Panasonic RT2B-series: TH-P46RT2B and TH-P42RT2B 

Panasonic has introduced the world's first all-in-one Full HD 3D TV line-up called the RT2B series which combines a built-in blu-ray disc drive with a built-in HDD in the TV. The new series consists of two PDP TV combos with the models the 46-inch TH-P46RT2B and the 42-inch TH-P42RT2B. Both two models in the RT2B series have:

  • Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution
  • Full black PDP plasma panel
  • A native contrast ratio of 5 000 000:1
  • 500 Gigabytes of internal HDD storage with the possibility of recording both 2D and 3D video
  • Built-in Blu-ray player with support for 3D playback 
  • A terrestrial 110CS digital TV tuner
  • Three HDMI ports
  • One D4 port
  • DLNA certification which allows the use of Skype and chat

The models also comes with Panasonic shutter glasses to experience the 3D, which is available in different sizes (S, M or L) and is rechargeable via a USB port. The models from Panasonic's RT2B series; TH-P46RT2B and TH-P42RT2B will be released on August 27th in Japan with a suggested retail price of 5 076 $ USD and 4 499 $ USD respectively. Plextor PX-B120U external BD-ROM player

Plextor has announced the launch of their new PX-B120U external BD-ROM. The blu-ray player was first introduced at Computex Taiwan in june and is now available for purchase in Europe. The PX-B120U is USB-powered and includes Cyberlink Power DVD software. PX-B120U supports playback for DVDR and DVDRW +/- as well as DVD +/- DL, DVD-RAM and CD-R formats. Drive speeds are 4X for Blu-ray, 8X for DVD and 24X for CD. This external Blu-ray player only requires USB 2.0 connection to a notebook or a PC and does not require an external AC-adapter.

BenQ announces world's first VA LED monitors with their EW and VW-series

BenQ has announced the release of the world's first Vertical Alignment (VA) LED monitors in their EW and VW-series. The line-up features VA-panel LED monitors with the Full HD resolution in the 16:9 aspect ratio. The new models are: EW2420 (24-inches), VW2420(H) (24-inches) and VW2220(H) (21,5-inches). All models have a viewing angle at 178/178 degrees, a true 3000:1 native contrast ratio and BenQ's Senseye Human Vision technology. 

What the VA LED-based panels offers is better colour reproduction, high contrast ratio and a  more accurate display of blacks with minimal light leakage.

Ports for the VW series includes DVI, D-Sub, HDMI 1.3 and a headphone jack. The EW series comes with DVI-D, HDMI x 2, D-Sub, USB x 4, line-in, headphone jack as well as a pair of built-in 1.5 W speakers.

BenQ VW2420(H) and EW2420 will be available worldwide in early mid-July and mid-August respectively and the VW2220(H) will be available in November. Suggested retail prices and more exact release date is yet to be announced. Source: BenQ

BenQ releases four Full HD projectors for education

BenQ has announced the launch of four new projectors aimed for teachers, IT administrators and students. The models are MP780 ST, MP778, SP840, and SP890. The four models are designed to fit small classrooms to large auditoriums when at the same time offering a good price value and future-proof technology. The models have built-in features such as BenQ PointDraw technology with calibration-free, whiteboard-free interactive pen. The models also have integrated microphone-in jack, built-in big speakers, LAN control and what BenQ calls "PC-less projectability".

All models supports a Full HD 1080p resolution and presents great colours with HQV, BrilliantColor and VIDI-technologies. The models MP778 and MP780 ST are 3D-ready and features USB display and USB reader.

All four new BenQ projectors are available now except the MP780 ST. The suggested retail prices are 3999 USD for the SP890, 2999 USD for the SP840, and 2099 USD for the MP780 ST. Source: BenQ
