LG releases the first HDTVs that stream instantly to Netflix members

LG has released the industry's first HDTVs with Netflix instant streaming software embedded directly in the TV, requiring no external device. The TVs available now are one 47-inch Full HD LCD TV with the model name 47LH50, and a 50-inch plasma HDTV with the model name 50PS80. A 42-inch LCD TV with the model name 42LH50 and a 60-inch plasma model name 60PS80 are coming this summer.

The Netflix library offers more than 12 000 movies and TV episodes available for instant playback within 30 seconds after choosing titles in a queue. These features are available with a broadband connection and a monthly Netflix subscription of $8.99 USD. LG's 47LH50 and 50PS80 also includes Yahoo! TV Widgets with direct access to YouTube and other streaming services. Read more
