Disney announces Diamond Collection with animated classics on Blu-ray

Disney has announced they will release 14 of their animated classic films on Blu-ray in the new Diamond Collection. The Diamond collection will start with Snow white and the Seven dwarfs being released on October 6th and will be followed by the following 13 other classics: "Beauty and the Beast", "Fantasia", "Fantasia 2000", "The Lion King", "Bambi", "Cinderella", "Lady and the Tramp", "The Little Mermaid", "Peter Pan", "The Jungle Book", "101 Dalmatians", "Sleeping Beauty" and "Pinocchio". Two titles will be released each year with a limited time available with "Beauty and the Beast" and "Fantasia" coming in 2010.

Each film in the collection will have restored image quality in 1080p and Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound. The Blu-ray discs in the collection will also have what Disney calls "groundbreaking, state-of-the-art immersive bonus content". Read more

Toshiba announces 25 new TVs the REGZA series

Toshiba has announced an overwhelming 25 new LCD TVs in their REGZA series. Some of the models are ZX9000, Z9000, H9000 and R9000. The new models comes in sizes ranging from 19 inches to 55 inches.  The biggest models have Full HD support where as the others have wide XGA resoultion. LG unveils the 55LHX LCD with Wireless HDMI and THX

LG has unveiled their 55-inch LCD 55LHX at CEDIA expo. 55LHX is LED backlit and is wireless. The 55LHX comes with a media box which transmits a uncompressed Full HD 1080p signal to the TV without any wires up to 30 feet away. 55LHX is also THX certified, which ensures that the TV delivers exceptional images, quality, usability and compatibility. 55LHX has a 5 000 000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 80 000:1 native contrast ratio and 240 Hz TruMotion. JVC announces the GD-32X1 LCD for the U.S. under the LT-32WX50 name

JVC earlier announced the ultra slim GD-32X1 LCD which is now being announced for release in the U.S.  under the LT-32WX50 name. LT-32WX50 is a 32-inch LED backlit LCD monitor which is only 6.4 mm thick and weighs only 5.7 kg.
LT-32WX50 supports Full HD resolution, has a brightness of 400 cd/m2 and a 4000:1 contrast ratio.
As LT-32WX50 is aimed for professionals, it offers 100 percent of sRGB and 90 percent of Adobe RGB. As for connectivity, LT-32WX50 has two HDMI connections, D-sub and more.

JVC  LT-32WX50 will be released in the U.S. in November 2009 with a suggested retail price of around $ 3000 USD. Read more

JVC unveils the HD1500 and SR-HD1250 Blu-ray and HDD recorders

JVC has unveiled the two new Blu-ray and HDD recorders HD1500 and SR-HD1250 at CEDIA expo. With HD1500 and SR-HD1250, the user can record and author professional BDMV or BDAV discs. They support advanced MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (H.264) encoding and support for HD and SD sources and features a built-in format converter for downconverting of HD for recording to DVD. 

HD1500 and SR-HD1250 supports BD-R or BD-RE (erasable) Blu-ray discs. As for connectivity, HD1500 and SR-HD1250 supports USB, i.Link, HDMI, Component, Composite and S-video inputs and have a SDHC card slot. 

SR-HD1500 has a 500 Gigabyte internal hard drive and the SR-HD1250 has a 250 Gigabyte. JVC HD1500 and SR-HD1250 will be released in October 2009 with a suggested retail price of $ 2 550 USD for SR-HD1500 and $ 1 995 USD for SR-HD1250. Read more

JVC announces the new D-ILA home theater projector line

JVC has announced an update to their D-ILA line of home theater projectors. Six new models will be released, with the top four of them having a THX certification and all with very high contrast ratios. The new models are DLA-RS35, DLA-RS25, DLA-RS15, DLA-HD990, DLA-HD950 and DLA-HD550.
For all six models, JVC has added a double-speed 120 Hz Clear Motion Drive technology to reduce motion blurring and a new screen adjustment mode to optimize the projector for different screen types.

The new line's most high-end models DLA-RS35 and DLA-HD990 offers a native contrast ratio of 70 000:1, which is unpararelled performance according to JVC. The contrast ratio for the other models are: DLA-HD550 - 30,000:1, DLA-RS15 - 32,000:1 and DLA-RS25/DLA-HD950 - 50,000:1.

JVC's new D-ILA line of home projectors will be released in the beginning of September 2009 with the following suggested retail prices:

DLA-RS35/DLA-HD990: $10,000.00 USD
DLA-RS25/DLA-HD950: $8,000.00 USD
DLA-RS15: $5,500.00 USD
DLA-HD550: $5,000.00 USD

JVC introduces DLA-RS4000, a 4K home cinema projector

JVC has introduced the 4K home cinema projector DLA-RS4000 at CEDIA expo. Three newly developed ultra high definition 4K2K D-ILA devices allows the DLA-RS4000 to project a 10 Megapixel image with a native resolution of 4096 x 2400 pixels. With a 4K2K projector like DLA-RS4000, you can display up to four screens with Full HD or WUXGA resolution simultaneously. 

DLA-RS4000 has a 3500 ANSI lumens Xenon lamp and a 10 000:1 contrast ratio thanks to new Wire Grid polarizers combined with new liquid crystal technology. Despite its heavy 110 pounds, the DLA-RS4000 is 65 percent smaller than conventional projectors in the same class. DLA-RS4000 also supports Ethernet connectivity and 3D applications. 
JVC DLA-RS4000 will be released in October 2009 with a suggested retail price of $ 175 000 USD. Read more

JVC introduces GD-463D10, the 46-inch 3D LCD monitor

JVC has introduced their 46-inch 3D LCD monitor GD-463D10 at CEDIA Expo. GD-463D10 which is already popular at major Hollywood studios, will now be available for home installations. GD-463D10 is 39 mm thin and shows flicker-free 3D images by adopting the Xpol polarizing filter method and battery-free passive circular polarizing filter glasses.

GD-463D10 supports a Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution at 24p, 50p, 60p, 50i and 60i. It has three HDMI inputs, a contrast ratio of 2000:1 native or 10 000:1 dynamic and comes with two paris of polarizing glasses for the 3D viewing.
