JVC announces the Everio GZ-HM340 HD camcorder

JVC Everio GZ-HM340 HD camcorder

JVC has announced their latest addition to the Everio-line of HD camcorders; the Everio GZ-HM340. The newest camera features 16 GB of internal memory, 20X optical zoom (Konica Minolta HD Lens), a SD/SDHC card slot and functions such as auto recording and time lapse recording.

As with other cameras in the Everio-series, the GZ-HM340 features advancements in low light capabilities and  has a Advanced Image Stabilizer (A.I.S) for better recording while on the move. The camera also lets you share your recorded digital files with the Everio MediaBrowser software which automatically converts your content to HD and SD-videos for YouTube or to your iPod.

Acer debuts GD235HZ 23.6" 3D display in the U.S.

Acer has debuted their new 3D display GD235HZ for consumers in the United States. The display is a 23.6 inches big display which delivers Full HD 3D in 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution (16:9) with a 120 Hz refresh rate. To view 3D content such as High Definition 3D games or Blu-ray movies,  you have to combine the display with NVIDIA 3D Vision active-shutter glasses.

The GD235HZ is Acer's first monitor to support 3D technology and is an answer to the rising market with stereoscopic 3D displays that is expected to grow from 0,7 million units in 2008 to 196 million units by 2018, according to DisplaySearch.

The monitor has a native contrast ratio of 1000:1, a brightess of 300 cd/m2 and a response time of 2 ms. As for connectivity, the GD235HZ has one HDMI, one DVI and one VGA.

Acer GD235HZ 3D display will be available early this month for U.S. customers with a suggested retail price of $399.99 USD. The NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit is sold separately with a suggested retail price of $199 USD. Source: Businesswire

EIZO introduces Raptor WS3001, a 2K × 2K Capable 30-inch Monitor

EIZO Raptor WS3001 monitor

EIZO has introduced Raptor WS3001, a 30-inch monitor with the same features and functionality as their FlexScan SX3031W but with downscaling capabilities. WS3001 has a native resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels (16:10) but can downscale 2K x 2K and 2.5K x 2.5K signals to 1600 x 1600 and 2000 x 1600 resolutions respectively.

The monitor is aimed as an alternative to non-critical environments such as ATC simulation and training centers and testing labs. EIZO's new model comes with dual DVI-D inputs, and a picture-by-picture capability to recieve and display signals from two computers simultaneously.

Other specifications are a viewing angle of 178 degrees, a brigthess of 260 cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 900:1 and built-in USB 2.0 ports. EIZO's Raptor WS3001 is out now with an unknown suggested retail price. Source: EIZO
