ASUS SBC-04D1S-U External Slim Blu-ray drive
ASUS has released specifications for their upcoming SBC-04D1S-U External Slim Blu-ray drive. The SBC-04D1S-U is a external drive which connects to your computer’s USB 2.0 port and it supports reading 4.8X BD-ROM/RE and writing 8X DVD+R/+RW. It is only available for Windows operating systems though.
SBC-04D1S-U supports TrueTheater High Definition (TTHD) which upscales standard definition content into HD-quality images on high-resolution displays. It comes bundled with software from Cyberlink and the abillity to protect content on discs with Disc Encryption to password protect an entire or a part of a disc.
