Sharp and Sony joint venture agreement
Sharp and Sony has entered into an agreement called ”Joint venture agreement” for producing and selling large-sized LCD panels and modules in a joint venture company together. On July 1, 2009, Sharp transfered their new LCD panel plant under construction and transfered it to their subsidiary Sharp Display Products Corporation (SDP). SDP will shift into full gear in October 2009 and in the end of 2009, Sony who owns 34% of SDP, will invest 10 billion Yen into SDP and in return make Sony a third-party owner. Read more
